WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Financial Analyst
Mondlicht is a borrower-side capital structure and debt advisory firm operating across the GCC and MENA region. We advise business owners, family offices, and investors — exclusively on their side, never the bank's.
We are looking for a CFA-certified Financial Analyst to work with us on assignment basis remotely. It is a professional engagement for someone who is rigorous, senior enough to work independently, and wants to contribute to complex, high-value advisory mandates without the constraints of a full-time role.
What you will work on: Financial modelling across capital structure scenarios · Debt capacity and covenant analysis · Leveraged acquisition and exit modelling · Client-facing advisory proposals and mandate briefings
What we need from you: CFA Charter (all three levels passed) · Minimum 3 years in corporate finance, investment banking, credit analysis, or financial advisory · Fluent in English — Arabic an advantage · GCC market familiarity preferred · Available for defined project windows with reasonable turnaround commitments
What this offers: Exposure to complex, real-world GCC advisory mandates · Direct collaboration with the founding principal · Flexible engagement — assignments are project-scoped, not time-bound · Remuneration per assignment, structured to reflect the quality and complexity of the work
If you are a CFA charterholder with strong financial modelling skills who wants to contribute to serious advisory work on a flexible basis — we want to hear from you.
Send your CV and a brief note on your background to: contact@mondlicht.net

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
About Mondlicht LLC
Mondlicht LLC is a boutique borrower-side capital structure and debt advisory firm serving business owners, family offices, UHNW investors, and corporates across the GCC and MENA region. Founded in Dubai in September 2023 and now operating from Doha, Qatar, Mondlicht advises exclusively on the borrower's side, never the lending institution's.
Mandates include leveraged real estate acquisitions, multi-bank debt restructurings, refinancing positioning, covenant stress advisory, and capital structure diagnostics. Every mandate is led personally by the founding principal, who brings thirty-three years of GCC institutional banking experience, including senior roles at Commercial Bank of Qatar, Ahli United Bank Kuwait, Kuwait Finance & Investment Company, and Gulf Bank Kuwait.
Role Overview
Mondlicht is looking for a CFA-certified Financial Analyst to provide high-quality analytical and modelling support on a part-time, assignment-by-assignment basis. The analyst will work directly with the founding principal, contributing to mandate delivery across financial modelling, credit analysis, and client-facing advisory documentation.
This is not a support or back-office role. The right candidate will be capable of independent, senior-level analytical work — producing outputs that go directly to clients as part of formal advisory deliverables. Quality, precision, and professional presentation are non-negotiable.
Assignments will be scoped and agreed in advance. There is no minimum or maximum number of assignments per month — volume will depend on the mandate pipeline. The engagement structure is designed for a senior professional who wants to contribute meaningfully to complex advisory work around existing commitments.
Key Responsibilities
-
Financial Modelling
Build and maintain integrated financial models covering debt capacity, loan amortisation, cash flow projections, and capital structure scenarios
Construct leveraged acquisition models under multiple LTV and tenor scenarios, incorporating bank management fees, settlement costs, advisory fees, and exit assumptions
Model covenant compliance under base, stress, and downside scenarios
Build sensitivity and scenario analyses that clearly illustrate the range of outcomes under different market and lender conditions
Prepare exit modelling including asset disposal, loan settlement, net proceeds, and return on equity calculations
-
Credit & Debt Analysis
Analyse client balance sheets from a lender's perspective — identifying covenant risk, maturity concentration, and refinancing exposure
Assess debt service coverage ratios, interest coverage, and liquidity metrics against lender thresholds
Review and interpret facility agreements, term sheets, and covenant schedules to identify key risks and negotiating leverage
Benchmark client financial metrics against regional sector comparables where relevant
-
Advisory Proposals & Client Documentation
Produce client-facing financing briefings — structured, professional documents presenting dual or multiple financing structure analyses with full financial model outputs
Draft or edit advisory term sheets, mandate briefings, and engagement summaries in line with Mondlicht's document standards
Prepare investment committee or credit committee-style presentations for client use in lender discussions
Ensure all client-facing documents meet the highest standards of financial accuracy, formatting, and professional presentation
-
Research & Market Intelligence
Monitor and summarise QCB rate movements, GCC lender appetite, and regional real estate yield trends as required
Provide concise market context for inclusion in client briefings and advisory proposals
Support the development of reusable analytical templates and financial model libraries for recurring mandate types
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Mandatory:
CFA Charter — all three levels passed and charter awarded. CFA candidates who have not yet completed all three levels will not be considered
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following: investment banking, corporate finance, credit analysis, financial advisory, private equity, or structured finance
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel — including complex financial modelling, scenario analysis, and dynamic model architecture. No reliance on templates — must be able to build from scratch
Fluency in English — written and spoken. All client-facing documents are produced in English
Demonstrable experience producing client-facing financial documents — models, proposals, briefings, or presentations — to a professional standard
-
Strongly Preferred:
Arabic language proficiency — written and spoken. Bilingual candidates will be given preference
GCC market experience — familiarity with QCB regulations, regional lending practices, Islamic finance structures, and GCC corporate banking environments
Experience in or exposure to debt restructuring, special assets, or distressed credit advisory
Microsoft Word proficiency for professional document production — formatting, structured layouts, and branded document preparation
Familiarity with PowerPoint for advisory deck production
-
Personal Attributes
Works with complete precision — financial errors in advisory documents are not recoverable. The right candidate understands this and checks their own work rigorously
Communicates clearly and concisely in writing — capable of translating complex financial analysis into clear, professional language for a client audience
Self-directed and reliable — able to manage an assignment independently from brief to delivery without hand-holding
Discreet — Mondlicht operates under strict confidentiality standards. All client information, mandate details, and financial data are strictly confidential and must be treated accordingly
Responsive within agreed windows — while the engagement is flexible, mandates have real client timelines. Agreed deadlines are commitments, not suggestions
Interested in the work — the most rewarding mandates are the complex ones. The right analyst finds genuine intellectual satisfaction in solving difficult capital structure problems
Engagement & Remuneration
Structure: Per-assignment engagement. Each assignment will be scoped in advance with agreed deliverables, timeline, and fee.
Remuneration: Competitive per-assignment fee, structured to reflect the complexity, volume, and turnaround requirements of the specific mandate. Rates will be discussed and agreed with shortlisted candidates. Mondlicht pays per deliverable, not per hour — quality of output determines the value of the engagement.
Confidentiality: All candidates will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before any mandate information is shared. This is standard and non-negotiable.
Working Arrangement: Fully remote. Collaboration via email, WhatsApp, and video call as required. Deliverables shared via secure file transfer. No office attendance required.
